Have you ever wondered if there’s a way to customize and promote your blog without learning a bunch of gobblty gluck html code? Well, there is. And I’m living proof of it. It also doesn’t require you to go out and buy tons of add-on features for your site. Trust me, learning how to customize and promote your blog is going to be one of the most cost effective skills you can ever develop. What I want to share with you today is something that’s going to empower you to make customized changes to your network marketing blog and hopefully inspire you to create a uniqueness about your brand that will help separate you from the masses.
In short, what I’m going to talk about in the video is the following:
- How to use Firefox add-ons to read your code and understand it
- A slick website you can use to figure out operationally what each piece of code does without understanding it!
- How to figure out what the code is doing on your blog, regardless of the theme
- How to make temporary real-time changes to any page on your blog by editing the code (no programming skills required)
- How to upload your final changes to your wordpress blog in a safe way so you can undo anything you don’t like later
Awesome right? Umm yeah, I wish someone had showed me this stuff when I was starting out. I had to learn it from a number of programming buddies that were willing to help me. That’s the true power of a network right? I can’t emphasize how important it is that you build a network of highly skilled people, regardless of whether or not they want in your business.
This goes a little outside the premise of this article, but the concept is key. I can’t do everything, neither can you. So by building a network of people with the skills I lack, I effectively gain those skills. Maybe I don’t have access to them 24-7, but I do have access. The best example I can give you is my chiropractor. My chiropractor’s name is Bob, and because he’s a good friend I pay virtually nothing for regular adjustments. No insurance bill, 15$ here and there. And he adjusts my daughter for free. On top of that he teaches me techniques under the table! Crazy right? Chiropractors can lose their licenses for that you know, but he trusted me enough to share some of his methods. And that’s 8+ years of school I don’t have to go through to learn it.
Take those same principles and apply them to this business my friends. It will take you a long way.
Ok, back on topic. In the video below I primarily discuss customizing your blog. But I wanted to touch on promoting your blog here in the article. The best way I’ve found to promote this sucker is through organic search and interaction within the community. If you engage with the people making waves in your industry, as well as up-and-comers, you’ll find that doors will be wide open for you to do things that expose your brand. An example would be reaching out to other bloggers and asking to write guest articles for them in exchange for a backlink to your home page (or related article page). Now I know what you’re thinking: one link!?? I’m not going to do all that work for one link. Fine, look for a shortcut and let me know how that goes. The truth is, that one backlink is exponentially more powerful than any other type of link you can get. And if you secure it on a high pagerank sight, you are almost certainly going to see higher organic search results for it.
So besides guest blogging, there are a couple other ways to drive traffic to your sight that are free. One of the best ways I’ve found is to comment on related blogs. Although the backlink you earn won’t amount to much, lots of other people will read your comment if it’s thoughtful and click on your name to check out your site. Make sure you use a plugin that shows your picture in the search engine results as well. Your post and link will stand out among the other rabble.
Make sure you check out our MLM tools and resources page to find out what the MLM industry techies are using today. Some of the software on that page is an absolute must.
